Privacy Policy

How Beacon collects, uses, and protects your information.

Last updated: 7 October 2026

1. Introduction

Beacon ("Beacon", "we", "us", or "our") provides a multi-tenant software platform that connects merchants’ ecommerce stores and marketing channels into a single dashboard and analytics experience (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the choices and rights you have.

This policy applies to our website, the Service, and any related communications. It does not apply to third-party platforms you connect to Beacon, which are governed by their own privacy policies.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: information you provide, information collected automatically, and information received from third parties.

  • Account information: name, business name, email address, password, role, and preferred language.
  • Billing information: subscription plan, billing contact, and invoice history. Payment card details are processed by our payment processor and are not stored on our servers.
  • Store and connector data: credentials and tokens for the ecommerce and marketing platforms you connect, together with the product, order, inventory, and performance data we retrieve through them.
  • Usage and device data: IP address, browser and device type, pages and features used, and timestamps.
  • Support and communications: messages you send to our support team and your contact preferences.

3. How We Use Information

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including syncing data from connected platforms.
  • Create and manage your account and authenticate you.
  • Process subscriptions, payments, and invoices.
  • Respond to support requests and send service, security, and administrative notices.
  • Monitor usage, detect fraud, and improve performance and reliability.
  • Send product updates and marketing communications, subject to your preferences.
  • Comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.

4. Legal Bases for Processing

Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or similar laws apply, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract: to provide the Service you have requested.
  • Legitimate interests: to secure, support, and improve the Service and to prevent fraud, balanced against your rights.
  • Consent: for optional marketing and non-essential cookies, which you may withdraw at any time.
  • Legal obligation: to meet tax, accounting, and other legal requirements.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your language and theme preferences. We may also use analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent the Service from working correctly.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described below:

  • Service providers: hosting, payment processing, email delivery, analytics, and support tools that process data on our behalf under contract.
  • Connected platforms: when you connect a store or marketing channel, we exchange data with that platform as needed to provide the Service.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, to respond to valid requests, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of Beacon, our customers, or others.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

8. Data Security

We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, encryption of connector credentials, access controls, and logging. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Data Transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal information internationally, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion of your information.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Request portability of your information.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

11. Children’s Privacy

The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age required by applicable law.

12. Third-Party Links and Integrations

The Service allows you to connect third-party platforms and may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their policies.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by email and update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
